EID UL-
The Eid celebration is held following the close of Ramadan, the month of fasting for Muslims. It is a celebration that focuses on eating and entertainment, a happy and fun time for Muslims, a little like Christmas time for Christians, with children receiving presents and money, but with an emphasis of giving charity to the poor and unfortunate and social interaction with family and friends.
The event we hold supplies plenty of food, is a wonderful opportunity to meet friends and relations and enjoy live entertainment.
The entertainment usually includes poems, songs and plays from the children of our After School Club and other young people, followed by a community talent contest with awards for the winners and finishing with a live musical act/band.
It's a long day but a fun one!
The next Eid festival will be held on 12th October 2008 at Trinity Community Centre
from 3pm -
